Achieving your best summer skin is just achievable with these helpful tips...
- First and most important, use broad spectrum SPF! Your best defence against aging is protection; we repeat your best defence is protection!
- Get yourself an ultra cute floppy sun hat! Help protect your face from the sun further with fashion!
- Treat sunburns to minimize damage, flaking and peeling. Our Soothing Recovery Calming Mask is an excellent way to calm your red, irritated skin. Once the inflammation from the burn has subsided, we suggest using a hydrating moisturizer to add moisture back into the skin.
- Invest in a good cleanser that has glycolic acid or salicylic acid if you have oily or combination skin. This will keep your skin exfoliated, which helps to shed damaged layers and keep your skin bright and glowing.
- Exfoliate religiously, because as we mentioned with #4, the more you remove the damaged layers, the more you summer skin will glow!
- Minimize the amount of makeup that you use in the summer to keep your face free of blemishes and excess oil. When you use a full coverage or heavier foundation, they typically don't stay put when we sweat under our makeup. By using something lighter or opting for a moisture tint, it keeps things light and allows our face to breath.
- Did you know that sun exposure gradually thins the skin? With that said, be sure to keep up with lip and eye protection to keep those areas wrinkle free.
- On the days that you spend a little more time in the sun, use a heavier moisturizer both at night and in the morning, it will help to add much-needed moisture back into your skin.
- Aiming for a sunkissed glow? Instead of damaging your skin willingly, invest in an excellent sunless tanning cream to save your skin and still achieve a nice tan.
- Lastly, stay hydrated from the inside out. This is a year-round practice that will help your skin from now until the end of time, but in the summer, it is especially important.
